DROWNING IN BOOKS

By Mary Kennedy

We all have books that are keepers; autographed books, books written by friends, reference books (yes, I know we can find the same info on Google, but there's something reassuring about returning to a well-loved reference book), and of course, books that we just haven't gotten around to reading.

We all have well-stocked (sometimes towering!) TBR piles.

We have books we've been meaning to give to friends. I have a friend who's an aspiring writer and I promised to give her book 2 of my Dream Club Mysteries. She's currently reading NIGHTMARES CAN BE MURDER, book one.

She hopes to write cozies and I figured it might give her some inspiration. Plus, she loves books set in the south, so there's another reason! After all, inspiration is everywhere. Check out the bowl of alphabet soup below!

I know Marie Kondo only keeps 30 books in her house, (but realizes that others may have more!).  I could never limit myself to 30 books, could you?

I've never done a count of how many books I have in the house. I'm not sure I want to, because the number will be overwhelming. I know it's a lot more than 30. How about you?

Mary Kennedy PS stay safe and do lots of reading during these challenging times.

I think Ms. Kondo is very wrong when it comes to books! Not sure about her other advice either...how can someone live with only thirty books!!!

Hi Gram, totally agree! Of course, I have a Kindle, but still, I just can't limit myself to 30 books, I wonder if anyone can? Thanks so much for stopping by.

I have 125 books in just one spot, I need to stop my habit but I can't resist a good book!

I have a lot more than 30 books in the house and since the library is closed indefinitely I’m glad that I do.

Maybe she meant 30 books in each room...😀 I would still go way over the limit.

In each room, or if you don't count the attic, basement, garage, and workshop as part of the house

I haven't counted either but I know I have way more than 30.

We easily have 30000.I know that we have too many, but gosh 300 would be tough! There are books in every room.

Hi everyone, I can see that we're all big-time book lovers, book collectors, and readers! What would a house be without books? I hate to think of it. As one of my friends says, "What would life be without books?"
