Are you ready for fall…or not so much

I am such a summer girl!! I love summer! The sun, the heat, the humidity, the grilling, even cutting grass and I really love my garden. But summer 2015 is over much too fast and that’s downright depressing.

So to cheer myself up I came up with 14 reasons to get jazzed over fall.

First there’s pumpkin pie to look forward to. We even have pumpkin spice ice cream here in Cincy and it’s terrific and you can only get it in the fall.

And the colors! Lordy, the leaves chaning is amazing. It’s pure magic. And it’s now officially candy apple season. Yummm…

Then there’s hot chocolate with marshmallows, gotta have the marshmallows. Okay, you can have hot chocolate anytime but you have to admit it tastes best when there’s a nip in the air and nothing gets you warm like a cup of hc.

Halloween is just around the corner with all the decorations and kids begging for candy. Who doesn’t love sneaking a piece?
And then there’s the clothes. Jackets, sweaters, scarves, new jeans and boots! Boots are fantastic and a change of season is a great reason to shop.

Thanksgiving is the best holiday of all. The family gets together and it’s the perfect kickoff to the holiday season. And the food!!! Lord have mercy nothing beats Thanksgiving food.

And it’s back to hot coffee instead of cold coffee, fires in the fire pit and in the hearth, and the beginning of all the new shows on TV. That is for sure a great reason to embrace fall.

So what about you? Are you a summer gal/guy? Looking forward to fall? What are you looking forward to most?

For a summer kind of gal, you sure sound like you appreciate fall, Duffy! :-) I don't know if you talked yourself into it, or if it's just your sunny and positive personality.

Spring and fall for me, for all the reasons above. Except pumpkin spice ice cream--you can have my share.

Hi, Karen. We have such lovely falls here in Cincy and I’m with you on spring. Absolutely looooove spring. So glad your daughter got home from her adventures. What a great time she had!

I always thought of myself as a summer person, but as I grow older I realized I like the fall more. I love baking anything pumpkin especially pumpkin rolls. I love the changing color of leaves especially here in Michigan and wearing the warmer clothes. The heat has gotten to much for me in summer and I don't hit the beach as much as I used to.

I LOVE FALL!!! Yes, closing the pool this week is going to be depressing, but I am ready for the weather change. I slowly start adding pumpkins and mums into my flowers and outdoor decor. October is my favorite month with Halloween being my favorite holiday (along with Thanks Giving and 4th of July.) So I decorated like crazy and then I change out for my Thanks Giving Day decorations. I love the windy, chilly nights; and seeing the leaves swirling around. Sitting outside on the patio with my books, hot chocolate, hot cider or tea.
I do love Summer, and could live with out a harsh Winter, but I do need the change of seasons.

I used to be a summer gal (ahem) many moons ago, but now I'm definitely into Spring and Fall! For all the reasons you mentioned. It was 98 degrees today, so I say, Autumn, bring it on!

Oh, Carrie, I just love Michigan. My Cycle path series is set on Mackinac and I totally fell in love with the place. It sure does get cold in the winter. Burrrrrr.

Hi, Margaret. I love the change of seasons too. Always something to look forward to. However….I can do without Jan and Feb. LOL

It is beastly here too. The humidity is horrid. I’m so looking forward to cooler weather and jeans and jackets,

I'm another Texas girl and I prefer spring and fall, what little we have of either. Winter is about 3 months month, summer is 6 months long so you have to fit in spring and fall in the remaining 3 months

Oh yeah, I can live with out Jan. and Feb too.
