Meet the new kid on the shelf!

By Victoria Abbott aka Victoria and Mary Jane Maffini

Well, the suspense is over and TADA here it is!   Our long-awaited cover for book four of the book collector mysteries!

Meet THE MARSH MADNESS

One of the most exciting things as an author (or a pair of authors) is to get a new cover.  We want you to be the first to see the cover for The Marsh Madness, the fourth book collector mystery.

We always worry before we see it.  Will the publisher use another cover artist?  Will the color work? Will it reflect the book?

Please let us know what you think of it. Are you purple people?  We’re including the other covers so you can see if the new baby fits in with the family.  Here are the other kids:

So, should we celebrate?  Or head to Jordan’s attic room (wish it was real!), climb back into her feather bed and stick our heads under the flower-sprigged quilt?

PS. We are a mother-daughter collaboration as you may know.  Here we are with Peachy the Pug (aka Walter)

DON'T FORGET TO PRE-ORDER  ORDER THE MARSH MADNESS HERE

Or from wherever you like to buy your books!

Looks good to me! I do like purple, and all the other covers, too! (Just about anything but pink is good, as far as I'm concerned. Although there are some shades of some colors that aren't so great.

Yes, I love the new cover - I am a purple person! While I love the look of the old library, the shelves, furniture - it looks almost heavy and dark unless one looks at the details. Very excited for the new book coming out, and can't wait to read it! Love this series!

The cover is eye-catching, and I love Ngaio Marsh so need to get caught up on the series (so many books, so little time) before it comes out. I first read Marsh in the 70's when I was in the Army in Germany. When I went on my last leave to England & Scotland, I went in every bookstore I found and bought her paperbacks if I hadn't already read them. Went back with 10-15 in my backpack.

I do have a comment about covers in general. I think the CozyChicks have great covers but really hate the ones where I don't think the artist even read the book. The author describes a room with a navy sofa, red armchair, and black and white tile but the cover shows a lavender blue sofa, a dusty rose chair, and carpet on the floor or the animal is a specific color, breed, size, etc but that's not what the cover shows. I assume the author goes into detail for a specific purpose, but that purpose sure doesn't show up on the cover. To me it is as glaring as a bunch of typos. Do you as the author(s) get any say on the covers? Cordella

I like the cover. The purple catches your eye because it is so strong. Also, the purple colr fits it with old fashioned, formal design of the rooms. All of the other covers have a strong, prominent color, just like this one. In short, it's a hit!

Love it. Purple is always very regal. Walter looks right at home.
