Magical Morning

by Deb Baker/Hannah Reed

There is something very special about greeting the dawn. It's so easy to get caught in busyness, but I took time for a walk along the riverbank outside my front door. Here's what I saw:

A fox overlooking the Fox river

Another bunch of early risers
A tiny hint of fall color
Glorious nature
Paddle boats ready for adventure
However hectic your day is, pause briefly and notice the beauty of life. It's there, if you look.

Sue, the thing is - that scenery is out there every day and how many times have I driven past it in a big hurry without actually seeing it? Lots of times. I/we have to slow down!!

How tranquil! I try to pause in the mad dash of life and look at things I see every day through new eyes. I'm always surprised with what I am not seeing:)

Good for you, Laura!

Took time today to look at the changing tree colors.

Aren't they spectacular?

I walked up to the nearby Arboretum the other day. I love the crunch of leaves under foot and seeing the changing leaves while walking through the wooded section. On the prairie, though the various sunflowers are all gone, I did find bottle gentians and a few different variety of asters. This weekend: apple picking at Eplegaarden!

Thanks for the reminder to "stop" and enjoy the world around us. There are little bits of beauty and awesomeness everywhere.
