Spring is Finally Here!

by Deb Baker/Hannah Reed

It's arrived. Finally. This has been a long, long winter. What are your plans? Gardening? Hiking? Watching the flowers grow? Birding? Let's get out there and witness this year's rebirth. Go on, put a spring in your step. Give us some evidence that spring has arrived.

Off you go, with words from a few famous authors.

In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.  ~Margaret Atwood

It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.  ~Charles Dickens, Great Expectations

In the spring I have counted one hundred and thirty-six different kinds of weather inside of four and twenty hours.  ~Mark Twain

Sigh...we're still buried in snow, with below normal temps. It can't melt soon or fast enough!

It is still too cold for the time of year here as well. So spring might be official as of March 21, but winter does not want to give up its reign.
But when spring truly arrives, I am looking forward to doing some gardening and just enjoying the sun on my skin.

it's still winter cold here. No signs of spring at all. To think, last year it was in the 80's now and we suffered all summer with heat and drought. Maybe this year it will be a more "normal" summer with enough rain. Ah, but nothing has been normal this year so that probably won't happen.

My daughter was born today on the first day of spring. She will be 29today so we are celebrating with a spring dinner. It is still pretty cold here, so no outside picnic.

I would love to do all those things but considering the foot of snow that arried yesterday it won't be for a while yet.

Just got over 8 inches of snow last night. Hopefully spring will arrive soon.
