My Summer Projects

by Lorna Barrett / Lorraine Bartlett / L.L. Bartlett

Every summer I think I'm going to get a LOT done.

HA!

Well, I still have high hopes for this summer.  And if you think about it, it won't REALLY be summer for another 17 days, so I'm good, right?

Revamping the living room, painting my office and the enclosed porch.  Building some shelves (or at least revamping the ones I've already got to make them look more "cottagy" (which means rip off the backs and put in white beadboard)). I've got to paint the molding in the bathroom, too.

Oh, and I need to finish a book that's a little behind AND a short story that's nearly done but I can't seem to figure out the end.  Plus I'm working on two other writing projects I'd like to have done by the fall. (And can I squeeze in some time to stop and smell the roses somewhere, too?)

My summer is pretty well booked.

What projects have you got on your to-do list ... and is there any possibility you'll get them all done?

Not projects, just lots of basketball camps, church camps, drivers ed classes and basketball work outs to take the girls to. The way my calendar looks, I have Saturday and Sunday's off. Have you heard THE LAZY SONG? That's how I feel today!

I have no major project until after my apartment inspection; then I suspect I will have projects.

I have lots of projects-along with the realization I won't get many done. I still haven't put in my raised bed!

My boyfriend and I started some things last week. Painting the house on the outside, now he has to do the first floor, as I am not going to stand on a ladder. And we decided to buy a few plants and make a little garden. He has to get rid of the stones, then I can do the rest. So that is something I want to finish, sooner than later, but he is working too many hours at the moment.
I plan on reading lots and lots of good books too, so Lorna, you have to keep writing ;).

Way too many projects and no, I probably won't get them all done. (I wish!) If I can get 2 or 3 finished I'll be happy!

My life is just a chronicle of too much on my plate and not enough time to finish. This summer won't be any different.

I've actually accomplished a few things today. I replaced a broken traverse rod and put up the new shower curtain. I bought yet another bookshelf that needs sanding and painting. (Now I have two.) Where's the sunny day so I can actually start working on them?

Good luck with your summer projects. I have a lot of yard/gardening work I want to get done this summer, but up here the sun is not shining through. If the rain keeps up my yard work may have to wait till next summer!

The Womb Weebles and I do that every Summer. We get a poster board, draw a calendar on it, list everything we'd like to do, and....start doing it. This year we have Jellystone Park, Ship Island, Bat houses, Butterfly Habitat, and various Art Projects.
Good Luck.

I have writing projects for the summer. I'm going back to school in the fall, so I figure I have the summer to really kick it into gear to get some writing projects done!

I'm just glad I finally got the gardens planted! Now I'll sit back and watch everything grow.

I have a 325 page book I have to get done reading by June 23, I think. I also really should straighten up my room and find a missing sock, convert all of my albums to CD's (without wearing out the needle on the USB turntable), and at some point, get some scrapbooking done. And the answer is no, I don't think I'll get it done.
