Happy Mother's Day ... and swag!

By Lorna Barrett / Lorraine Bartlett / LL Bartlett

Mothers_day_bouquet Tomorrow is Mother's Day.  Teleflora thinks you should honor your mother with a big bouquet of flowers -- or maybe a dish garden.  (I'm partial to them myself, because cut flowers last a few days and a dish garden can last for years, reminding the recipient of the thoughtfulness of the gift-giver.)

Bonbons Russell Stover, Godiva, Lindt, and every other candy maker thinks you should remember Mom with a nice box of chocolates.  Aside from the gazillion calories, what's not to like?  It's delicious.

Of course, here on the Cozy Chicks, we're authors -- we want you to treat your Mom to the gift of reading.  And here are a few suggestions:

Deadly cliche Absolutely Postively Cat-lady-liar

Crafty Killing Beeswax Dandelion

Double knit

They're all available in paperback or as e reads on all your favorite chain and indepent bookstore web sites.

And now for a little swag.

The winners of our Malice Domestic Author Swag Contest are:

Kristin Aamodt
Kristi Chadwick
Peggy Graham
Cynthia Kuhn
Darcy Odden
Your Cozy Chicks Swag will be in the mail on Monday

You would think my loving family would buy their favorite book loving, leather wearing, bike riding, librarian Mom books for Mother's Day. But they are afraid to - they always say "I don't know what you've read already." Sigh, that's why I have a wish list always easy to find. Oh well, maybe I'll just treat myself and pretend it's a Mother's Day present from the dogs.

My own dear mother would definitely prefer the flowers . . . or the chocolate. I, however, would be thrilled with the books. Alas, not sure I will be getting any this year as DS is saving everything for his girlfriend, who is graduating college.

I think my mom would like the flowers too. The plan was to get picture done of my daughter to give to her as her gift this year. However Lucy (my daughter) had other plans. She decided to get sick the day of our appointment at the studio.

Not only will I be giving my Mom a book tomorrow for Mother's Day, she is actually the one who introduced me to Maggie's books, which in turn has led me to the rest of you. Sure is nice having her to swap books with!

I am super excited to see my swag bag! You ladies made my day! :)

Happy Mother's Day to all!

Happy Mother's Day everyone!!

We went to Syracuse today and took my mom out for dinner for mom's day and her b'day which is Monday.

Tomorrow we are heading to the Tulip Festival with some of the kids and grandkids.

I plan on spending some money on myself. Anyone else???

Wow! I'm gone from blogland for a weekend and it's amazing what happens when I get back! I'm so excited to have won! I'll definitely be stalking my postal carrier now.

Interestingly enough, just like Darcy I'm in the middle of reading A Deadly Cliche. Olivia is someone I'd be thrilled to know in real life.

And while I love flowers, and chocolate, and especially books, the best gift that I had for Mother's Day was having the entire family together for Sunday dinner here (why it's been a couple days since I caught up with the blog).
