Giveaways

By Heather

It seems to be the week for giveaways. If you're not playing the 12 Days of Bookmas game sponsored by Bookend Literary Agency, you might want to give it a try. Free books are involved. Who doesn't love that?

Speaking of free books, I'm in the mood to give one away. Just post a comment about what's at the top of your holiday wish list, and I'll randomly choose a winner to receive an autographed copy of Truly, Madly. In the spirit of giving, you may want me to sign it for a friend...

I'll post the winner on next Friday's blog, so be sure to check back to see if you've won.

Happy Friday!

There's not much on my list. Maybe gift cards for my two biggest addictions - Starbucks and bookstores.

I'm looking forward to finally digging into the Hunger Games trilogy, so that's at the top of my list.

Ooh... I love this question! The top of my list this year was a tea set (Kettle and four cups). Not the girlie, fancy ones either; but one that was sturdy and family-friendly... umm... more specifically boy friendly. I wanted something that I could use for after school to sit with my teen and preschooler and talk over cookies with. Since they love hot cocoa as well as my favorite chai tea, it seemed like the perfect idea. AND it could double in functionality when I had a girlfriend over.

Since I splurged on a gift for myself this summer, I am not asking my husband for anything for birthdays and Christmas for several years. I will be satisfied with a new book and some chocolate.

A weekend in NYC to catch some shows. We usually go at least once a year but the last couple years something keeps getting in the way.

And, of course, books and bookstore gift card.

I haven't asked for anything for myself this christmas because my husband got laid off and money is really tight. So all I really want for christmas is to be able to get a few gifts for my kids.

Top of my holiday list is the blu ray version of Last of the Mohicans. Would love to hear the commentary. One of my favorite movies!

Pam said...

My son home for Christmas, a new lamp for the dining room, and chocolate, of course.

I'm getting what I want for Christmas--a house full of kids and laughter, a warm fireplace, lots of good food, and the love of Christmas.

I am 7 weeks and 2 days pregnant today. We saw a hb on Wednesday. At the very, very top of my wish list is that this pregnancy makes it. After 4 miscarriages in the last year, I don't think I could handle another one.

(yeah, I am playing the sympathy card, but it is the truth!)

A happy, healthy family, with no drama! :) And a new truck.

My family knows books, scrapbook supplies, crossstitch and quilting stuff, are always on my wishlist, so they just usually give me cash or gift cards. It makes their lives easier! I just have to let them know what I got!

Books and the time to read them in peace are always at the top of my wish lists. (Last year it would have been having my husband home for Christmas as he was deployed to Afghanistan, but we are blessed in that he gets to be with us this year.) I always enjoy getting books, especially autographed books as gifts, but most people are afraid to buy them for me for fear that I will have already read the book.

Debra said...

And a massage.

Terri said...

I bought myself a kindle so I gave myself the gift I want. Other than that - I like to be surprised (unless the surprise involves ugly polyester suits...)

Top of my list is something no one can buy. I'd like my husband's son to make peace with his father after 17 years, and allow his father to know his 3 grandsons.

Father and son have been estranged for all this time, and recently son sent father an email saying one of his children had asked about his grandfather. So son wrote to father to tell him his feelings about his childhood, and tell his father he has 3 grandsons.

Father was stunned by what son said, as these are not his recollections at all, and of course also stunned to find out he has 3 grandsons and a daughter-in-law.

Father replied to son, but has not heard back. Both of us are heartbroken about this.

I don't really have anything special on the top of my list. We just finished redoing our kitchen, so that was pretty much our Christmas gift to ourselves. Of course, books are always welcome gifts.

I have been suffering from a severe disc prolapse in my lower back which has prevented me from walking normally for the last few months. For Christmas and my Birthday (which is on the 11th), I would like a respite from the pain. The good news is that it leaves a lot of downtime to read!

I would love to receive a gift basket filled with food goodies, books, coasters, coffee, tea, Christmas decorations, and cards. I have given many to friends who just love them!

Also, to have my loving hubby beside me, snuggled up in a blanket watching Christmas shows on tv with the tree lights aglow is my favorite present of all!
