My Five Minutes of Fame

Next Tuesday at 9am I'm going to appear on a local talk show called The Morning Blend. A five minute segment. My first time on T.V. The producer wants me to bring a few prepared recipes from the newsletter in the back of Buzz Off, so I'm making the apple gingersnap crunch and the honey candy bites.

I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm a bit nervous...okay..maybe more than a bit.

I'm sweating what I should wear - suggestions have included:
  • no patterns
  • no black or white
  • something comfortable
  • go easy on jewelry it attracts light
  • if I wear a jacket, I need to sit on the hem so it doesn't bunch up around my neck
Then there's the presentation - should I bring a whole pan of crunch? Should I squirt whipping cream all over it? How can I spiff it up, make it look delectable, without wearing most of it on my outfit?

I won't even mention the ten talking points they requested.

See all the problems with having five minutes of fame. What would I do with fifteen?

Not sure I would squirt whipped cream but maybe bring some cool whip and spread. Easier to control. I agree with all the other things listed. Good luck! I hope it goes well!

How exciting, yet stressful! I think I wouldn't wear a jacket or long sleeves. More chance of getting stuff on the clothing and more to fidget with. At least you don't have to cook on the show. Can you imagine? That would frighten me more! I'm sure you'll be wonderful:)

Cool beans! I'd say leave off the whip cream but maybe take some with you. Other than that, just relax and have fun; let them take care of all the worrying - that's their job.

How exciting! I wish you the best of luck, and I'm sure it will go well. I agree with the suggestions you included, although I think wearing black would be okay. Maybe black pants with a solid color nice top. Something like that. Have fun!

Thanks gang! I'm leaning the black/pants, colorful solid top route. And whipping cream on the side. You've been a big help.

Deb,
We have had the gingerbread crisp about 4 times at least since you first posted the recipe!!! I'm a big whipped cream fan however last time we had it we were out and I realized I like it better without!!!!
Enjoy the experience...I know you will do a great job :-) Am halfway through the book and loving it so far...the whole foot thing is ....quirky??!!

Exciting news, Deb! Can't wait to hear all about it. I think you've got the clothes down pat.

BTW, I made the Apple Gingersnap Crunch a few weeks ago & it's definitely a "killer" dessert! Have fun!
