I sure hope they don't stop Saturday mail delivery, because getting the mail every day is such an adventure. I mail out bookmarks for the Cozy Chicks (keep those requests coming in!) and yesterday I got a batch of bookmarks for Leann's next release (The Cat, The Professor and the Poison--available May 4th).
I also got cover flats for my next release: Chapter & Hearse (which comes out August 3rd).
Way back in the mists of time, I used to belong to a Romance writers group. One of their published authors told me that you know you've made it when you get the title embossed in gold on your cover.
Guess what I've got on my cover???
Not only that, but my NAME is embossed in gold, too--and it's bigger (albeit not by much) than the title.
Enclosed was a lovely note from my editor's assistant. She's a big fan of this cover and loved all the little touches -- like the da Vinci painting. (Ah, so that's what that is! One of my readers wanted to know who it represented in the book. Now we know--nobody!)
I also love to read the advertising copy on the back flap of the cover flat--and this time they put my blog URL on it. (You all read my blog as well as this one, right? If not, why not??? You can find it here. And don't forget to follow!)
So count me among those who wants to keep Saturday mail deliveries. It's just one tiny bit of fun to look forward to every day.
P.S. Happy First Day of Spring!
