Kate: I've got a White German Shepherd mix named Sandy. She's as sweet as can be. Maybe since she doesn't look like most German Shepherds you wouldn't be scared of her. I was chased by a big, mean, German Shepherd when I was twelve and have never gotten over my fear of them. I would love to have an Aussie, however, if I could teach it to make coffee and bring me a cup.

My family has taken several dogs in over the years, but our "family dog" is Goldie, a male, yellow Australian Shepherd (named by a four-year-old).

His unusual color means he isn't show-quality, but he's an Aussie through and through, incredibly smart. My mother keeps threatening she'll teach him to open the fridge when we complain about having to get things for him, and we believe her.

I don't live with him anymore now that I'm grown, and now he's a grumpy old man of ten, but I think if I were ever to get a dog of my own, it'd be an Aussie.

My first dog, Coco, was a rescued german shepherd/collie mix. He was such a sweet dog. After he passed away, we got a terrier mix puppy named Molly May (we got her in the month of May, hence the middle name). She was a fiesty little puppy, yet had her whimpy princess moments too. We've almost always had dogs. After I lived a way from cats in college, I discovered I cannot live with them anymore due to allergies! My current two cuties are little terrier mixes. I never had a pet my entire life. All of my sibblings did, but I never wanted one. I now have a 6 yr. old Welsh Corgi named Shelby. We got her 3 1/2 years ago after Hurricane Katrina. She needed a home. It was love at first sight for the both of us. I am now the biggest dog lover in the world. Shelby is smart, funny, loving and very photogenic.

I have had dogs all my life and loved each one for their own unique personality. Currently Jedi, a black lab/German Shorthair Pointer mix, shares or life. She was a rescue having been tied to a tree on a college campus when her owner was tired of her. Her name Jedi symbolizes that the force was with her when she was rescued and got a forever home.

Dogs are amazing! I had one growing up and my husbandy and I have one now that we got together 11 years ago when we were just dating. I've had cats as well, but there is just something about the unconditional love and loyalty you get from a dog - they don't get mad at you, they judge you, they don't let you down, and they don't give you dirty looks! They are always happy to have any affection from you - Our Siberian husky is named Oliver and I love him as if he were my first born! Dogs Rule! :)

I've always said I'm bilingual, I love both cats and dogs. My first dog was Cinderella. She was a pek-pom mix and jet black. I must of got her when I was second grade (elementary school is kind of a blur, long story). When I moved away, my stepfather wouldn't let me have her and held her hostage so she lived her life out on the farm.

When I was growing up we had Puffball, the cat. He was the best cat because he ate everything. Cheese doodles, donuts and people food. Unfortunately he passed away. We got another cat and then the doctors told my mom that we can no longer have cats because I was now allergic.
