We are hoping that this is it "for awhile anyway". This is our third move in four years, yikes! But we really are hoping that this is it! Funny enough, hubby was working for DoD in Alexandria when we met. So we know, and love and miss, Northern Virginia. Well, except for the traffic!

OKay---now I understand. My youngest of four daughters Maria has been an officer with the US Navy for nine years and stationed all over the world. So---I'm well aware of the household goods shipment. In fact, this past month of October she shifted from the military to DOD in WashDC area and lives in my old neck of the woods---Arlington. And received her last household goods shipment. For a while, anyway.

Packed, as in, packed in our household goods. That are sitting in a warehouse somewhere in the greater Augusta area (I think). I wish I had been smart enough to put it in my travel stuff. I thought I did, but I must have forgotten. There was a whole pile of books that must have been packed by the movers, drat it all. Good news is, that we are closing on our house in two weeks and the movers come with all our goodies the week after - actually, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. It's going to be an interesting 'feast' this year!

AWESOME! I better go over to your site and (double) make sure I am on your newsletter list. I am still waiting to read DDS. I bought it for the drive from WA to SC ... and then somehow it got packed! I've been trying to hold off but now I can see I will have to go and get it from the library.

Okay---that's it. Cozy Chicks definitely have to have a Holiday Recipe week.

But in the meantime---I'm planning to do a November newsletter for my website email list to announce the paperback release of FLEECE NAVIDAD. I think I'll put the recipe in the newsletter. After all, it's a perfect soup for Fall. Thanks for the suggestion, canyonson.

Wll, Kiy, since you asked---yes, I have a very simple recipe that I use for butternut squash soup. Hmmmm. Maybe it's time for the Cozy Chicks to plan another Holiday Recipe week.

Meanwhile----there is a recipe for butternut squash soup from a dear friend of mine who is also a gourmet cook. I've included it in the back of the latest book, DROPPED DEAD STITCH. There's also a recipe from another dear friend for chocolate chip cookies. These gals are sisters and old childhood friends. We met each other in Arlington, VA, where we lived across the street from each other. We were 6, 5, & 4. And we've remained close friends ever since.

Ohh, Elizabeth, that brings back memories of all those years traipsing through rain or snow or cold or---sometimes---great Fall weather on Halloween night. And it was still fun. I LOVED dressing up the kids.

Seriously, yikes. I don't miss that snow at all (grew up in Michigan). Now that we are in SC, I am so hoping that in order for our little gal to see snow, we have to take her to visit the grands! (Poor kid)

Since you asked, we spent H'ween at the Honda dealership, and we wimped out on ToT'ing this year completely, but little gal is only two. We promised each other we'd do better next year (which is what I think we said last year).
