I type the letters right off my keyboards too (at least the laptops, which seem to have keys made of a different material). I've taken to putting tape over the keys on newer keyboards.

Nice! If it feels good to your hands, keep it! I type in two languages so I have a keyboard which has two sets of letters on it; it takes some getting used to but I can toggle back and forth with CNTRL+SHIFT. Keyboards are relatively cheap here (less than $10) so I usually replace mine every year (so far). I love the one I use at my office... I too have the telltale smooth part on the space bar. LOL

I love the idea of using old typewriter stickers on computer keys - I have the same problem on my keyboard at work....now I just have to dig out my typewriter stickers and take them in.
Oh, and as I was chuckling over your post, my husband peeked over my shoulder to see what I was reading....and he did the same thing your husband did.
Being a crafter, I have come up with ingenious uses for things to keep from throwing them away.

I love the new stickers. I gives it the look of the old typewriter (which I miss, I know I'm crazy). I usually tried to fix something before I do away with it. One reason I do is because you can never find a replacement that works as good as the original did, no matter what you're replacing.

I had this cute little foot stool and one of the legs broke off and I couldn't find replacement legs so I took off the other three legs and got small squares of lumber from Home Depot and made my own legs.

I don't like to modify things that annoy me...I am more of a get a replacement gal; however, my husband the pack rat, modifies everything in our house with zip ties (not twist ties). It is getting a bit old, but I guess it is better than throwing everything out!

PS: Lorna, how do you feel about the full keyboards on cell phones? It is hard to find a good one!
