My doctor said I&amp;#39;d know when.  Foot pain would tell me.  I&amp;#39;m glad I had it done when I did while I still had people (kids/husband) around to help me. Because I had BOTH feet done at the same time.  First week was pretty hard, but I slowly started getting around with the crutches after that.  Foot PT exercises helped me get back in five weeks instead of six, so that was good.  Also, I never had to wear any boot, so you must have had something exotic done other than the regular bunion and metatarsal realignment surgery.  Take it easy. But boy do I notice those handicap parking spots now, and wheelchair ramps. I think every city/town official should have to spend a day on crutches or in a wheelchair, getting around the metro area, in order to appreciate where those things are needed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Okay, Candace, I know you have more willpower than what you profess. I broke my leg a few years ago.  I was single at the time, so I didn&amp;#39;t have a helper.  I am thankful, though, for the experience--it made me far more aware of the difficulties others face every day. When I sprained my foot...</title><content type='html'>What is it with crutches?  When I sprained my foot last year, I tried crutches for a day and nearly killed myself.  I went down three times and said, &amp;quot;That&amp;#39;s it!&amp;quot; After that, I hobbled along with a cane (that was before we got the walker when hubby had his knee replaced).  Next time, I&amp;#39;ll be prepared.  (You noticed I said there&amp;#39;d be a next time, right?
