    Valentine’s Day Anxiety?

    Saturday, February 9th, 2008

Do you suffer from Valentines Day anxiety?
Do all those red heart-shaped candy boxes stacked near the check-out counter in every shop in town make you groan? Do you fantasize about nailing Cupid to the nearest wall using one of his own arrows?
I’m betting that you’re dreading Valentines Day because: a) you don’t have a date [...]

    January Energy Still At Work

    Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

That January energy gave me another swipe before it left.  This time it had nothing to do with changing directions, new novels, or new course corrections.  Nope.  This time it was something much simpler and easier to achieve.  New Furniture.
I’d been living with the same old living room furniture for several years since my divorce.  It [...]

    At the Movies–January 2008

    Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

Okay, I just have to share about a couple of movies I’ve seen.  I  didn’t see many flics over the holidays while visiting but I tried to catch up when I returned.  I’ll go from “light” to “heavy.”
For fun and lots of laughs, DAN IN REAL LIFE, delivers.  Lots of laughs, of course, but poignancy [...]

    Dancing With Another Partner

    Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

I’m escaping these next couple of weeks–sort of.  I’m pausing my next mystery which is due in early summer in order to return to the characters that have been waiting very patiently in the wings.  Molly Malone and friends.
Molly and crew first came roaring into life during the summer of 2006, and I was fortunate [...]

    January Energy

    Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

You’ve heard me complain about January’s cold and snow and ice.  Deep Winter.  All true.  I’m not a big fan of icy streets and walkways everywhere.  Weather-wise, it’s not my favorite time of the year.
However, I have learned to appreciate January—indeed, look forward to it—for other reasons.  Over the years I’ve experienced a renewed surge [...]

Back to the Snow and Ice

    Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

Sorry I’m late with my blog post for today, Tuesday, January 8th.  I returned home from a six-day trip to Texas to visit another daughter.  By the time the aiport shuttle dropped me off at my house late last night, I was beat.  I fell in bed and slept late this morning.
    Today, I was so [...]

    Still Celebrating

    Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

Happy New Year!  I hope all of you had a wonderful and safe New Year’s Eve.  I chose a peaceful quiet one this year, because I’m resting up between holiday  trips.  I arrived home to cold and snowy Colorado December 29th after two weeks Back East celebrating holidays with family and friends.  And—I’m about to leave [...]

    Holiday Travels–Northern Virginia

    Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

I am on vacation.  Yea!!!  I dropped my December 15-due date manuscript into expressmail on Friday, December 14, and then I left town Saturday morning, December 15th.  I’m here in Fairfax, Virginia (northern Virginia outside Washington, DC) enjoying family and holiday preparations.  Yesterday, I took my granddaughter to a favorite area knitting shop, Uniquities, in Vienna, [...]

    Heading for the Finish Line

    Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

I’m almost there. . .pant, pant.  I can see it in the distance.
This morning I’m startting Revision #4 (out of 5) for my latest mystery., which is due December 15th.  I was up till way past midnight last night inputting all the corrections  from revision #3.  And on and on until it’s finished.  And it WILL be [...]

Creamy Curried Pumpkin (or Squash) Soup

    Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

This is a very versatile soup recipe.  You can use pumpkin, butternut squash, or acorn squash.  Each works well.  Canned pumpkin works very well with this soup.  If you’re using butternut or acorn squash, use two to three medium large squash, enough to provide the same amount as the canned pumpkin would yield.  Both butternut and [...]
