Fifty Shades of Truly Amazed

by Deb Baker/Hannah Reed

Fifty Shades of Grey

Everybody is reading it. Even the canine community!

A movie version is coming.

So is the off-broadway musical after a smashing success in Chicago. And what about a Grey vacation in Seattle where you can unleash the inner goddess - ride in an Audi (Christian’s fav vehicle) and take a helicopter tour of Seattle and Portland.

Can someone please explain this phenomena to me. Or better yet, share the secret of this kind of success.

And yes, I read it, and yes, that's my copy in the clutches of a new 'rabid' fan.

Have a great day and don't forget to greet your morning with a smile.

  1. I love you girls, and look forward to your posts every day!

  2. haven't read it, don't intend to. I heard it started as a spoof of Twilight and that ended all thought of reading it (didn't like Twilight).

Wish I knew the secret of its success.

  3. I cannot explain it any more than I can explain why people love Toddlers and Tiaras or monster truck rallies.

Who can explain individual taste? Or lack thereof. :)

  4. I read it and was pretty mortified by it. Some of the worst writing ever. Interestingly, enough I watched the movie "Magic Mike" over the weekend and thought is this what we're coming to. If it doesn't have sex and an abundance of the "F" word in it, it's not worth writing. Pretty sad. And I have to say your dog has the right idea. That book deserves to be torn up.

  5. Or Honey Boo Boo
    Or Jennifer Aniston
    Or shoes that hurt

  6. No interest in reading it or seeing the movie when it comes out---and I agree with Bev about Magic Mike--an absolutely mindless movie.

  7. Oh, what a beautiful dog! As for the book, I have not read it. I did see the author interviewed on the Katie show, because I am interested in her huge success. I liked her, but not sure I would like the book. In the romance novels I read, if there are sex scenes that go on for several pages I get bored with them. So, I might be rather bored with Fifty Shades. Guess I would have to try to know for sure, and right now, it's not on my reading list.

  8. Thanks everybody for weighing in. That beast has really dog-earred those pages:)

  9. I am not interested in reading the book, so not my cup of tea. But many people do love it. I am just afraid of the effect it has on how men will treat women, you say no, but that book says you like it!

I did tease my boyfriend the other night though, because I received a book called Shaedes of Gray by Amanda Bonilla and Shades of Gray by Maya Banks. I said to him, now I can read Shaedes of Gray and of course he though about 50 SOG. Lol. He should know me better. And yes, it has been translated into Dutch.
