Bullet Points IX

* This is the first time in 5 years that I haven't attended Malice Domestic. If you've never been, it really is a treat to anyone, reader and writer alike, who loves cozies and traditional mysteries. I'm just as much a fan as anyone when I go. So many great people, so little time. Good luck to all the Agatha nominees. I can't wait to see who wins!

*Big happenings in my house over the next couple weeks. My oldest will become an official adult while my youngest attends her first formal dance. Sniffle. Sigh. How did they get so old so fast? And does that mean I'm old too? (Gasp!)

*I'm not sure what to think about this swine flu. On one hand it's a flu--and people get the flu all the time (esp. when the vaccine *cough, cough* doesn't happen to cover the rampant strain du jour that year). On the other hand, I want to run to the nearest store and buy one of those mask-thingies. I'll definitely increase my hand-washing. You?

*I'm road-tripping to the Festival of Mystery on Monday in Oakmont, PA. If anyone is in the area, please come by and say hi, maybe buy a few books--there will be plenty to choose from. I need to Google map directions and stock up on road trip snacks. Thankfully Sharon Short will be my road trip buddy--we always have adventures on the road. I'll let you know if anything, well, adventurous happens.

*Got my first blurb for Lucy Valentine from the fabulous Charlaine Harris:

A delightful protagonist and a clever premise combine
to make this one of the most entertaining books
I've read in months. Lucy is someone whose
adventures you'll want to follow again and again.

How great is that? Huge thank you to Charlaine, whose new Sookie Stackhouse is out next week, Dead and Gone. Can't wait to my little hands on it.

*I was SO wrong this week on American Idol. Before the results show started I predicted that either Danny or Allison would be sent home. Ahem. Who do you think will go next? I stick with either Danny or Allison (because, you know, I was sooo right on the money last time), and how shocking was it to see Adam in the bottom two?
