What's Your Ringtone?

It's taken a couple of years to find a ringtone I really like, but I finally have it. And it wasn't easy, let me tell you. A couple months ago I received a Stevie Wonder disc as a gift and fell in love, all over again, with "Sir Duke". It's one of my favorite SW songs, especially the opening with the crescendoing trumpets (click here for a listen). This! This is what I wanted for my ringtone, what I've been waiting for.

So I went to AT&T to look up ringtones and they had "Sir Duke", but not the section of the song I wanted (they had the chorus). Drat. Then I remembered that I have recording capabilities on my cell phone, so one night while I was waiting for my daughter to finish her CCD class (which isn't called CCD anymore, but I can never remember what they changed it to), I was in the parking lot, Stevie Wonder blaring, my cell phone held up to my car's speaker.

VoilĂ

Instant ringtone. I love it.

I keep threatening my son that I'm going to download the McDonald's Filet o' Fish song (click HERE to hear) because he hates when we launch into it, and I'm just that kind of mom. It can't be helped--the song is so catchy.

It seems most ringtones reflect something about the phone's owner. My daughter has the Phantom of the Opera overture (go figure--click here for a reminder) for her tone. My mother-in-law, a huge Red Sox fan, has "Take Me Out To the Ballgame".

I'm not sure what my ringtone says about me other than I like crecendoing trumpets, but that might be because I've never thought to put the Dr Pepper jingle on my phone before... Hmmm. There's another CCD class next week...

What's your ringtone?
