Learning Something New
Last week I told you about the new series I'm working on featuring Story Fischer, a beekeeper. The research has been great fun so far - a honey museum visit, trips to apiaries before the snow flew, and the anticipation of spring bee events. I'm learning something new and I live for that!
Whether you're reading books or writing them my guess is that you like to learn as you go, too. Through reading I've expanded my existing interests and found new ones. Of course plot, setting, and characters drive a good story, but for me a compelling 'hook' can push a tale into the great range. I love to read stories that involve gardening, birding, booksellers, cooking, vineyards, ghosts, crafts, nature. My list goes on and on. If I can learn something new, I'm a happy camper. How about you?
My randomly drawn winner is Deborah. Congratulations. You've won a box filled with honey supplies - a honey pot, cinnamon honey creme, honey sticks in an assortment of flavors, and four kinds of honey - orange blossom, clover, buckwheat, and basswood. Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org with your address so I can send the package out. If I don't hear from you by next Wednesday, another winner will be selected. (But I'm sure I will.)
