    Twist and Shout!

    Diana Killian Icon

Corpse Pose           Yesterday the Fed Ex man dropped off two hot-off-the-press copies of Corpse Pose, the first book in the new — MY new — Mantra for Murder series. Needless to say, I’m a little excited and very pleased. I like the book. I like the series. It’s very different from the Poetic Death series, but variety adds spice, right?

And it’s not a case of either or, because I’m finishing up Docketful of Poesy even as we speak for publication next year. So…it’s just more of me. Assuming you like me — er, my work — that would be a good thing.

Anyway, it belatedly occurs to me that I should do something to try and promote this auspicious occasion (the book doesn’t officially go on sale until April 1st, but it’s still sort of an auspicious occasion when you hold that first copy in your hands). I thought I’d run a little a contest over at Girl Detective .

Basically, the idea is you send me your best yoga story — funny, touching, aggravating, inspirational, whatever, and I enter your name and email into a drawing for a signed ARC of the book. And if I like your story I might just decide to use it in the next book in the series — Dial Om for Murder – citing you in the acknowledgments.

So let’s take it to the mat! Drop on by Girl Detective – and if you don’t do yoga, don’t worry. I’ll be cooking up a few different contests and fun stuff in the coming weeks, days, minutes….

Of course I like you and I also like your work. Funny how tied up into the work we can become. I told you my one and only yoga story. I’d have to be working out to have more.

Anyway, congrats! It must be an amazing feeling. I would be bouncing off the walls.

    3. I’m looking forward to the new series, but am glad you are still writing the Poetic Death series. I really enjoyed the two I read, and am still on the hunt for Verse of the Vampyre. I hope to read many more in BOTH series! Congratulations!

    4. I only did prenatal yoga and mostly tried to control my bladder to make it through an entire class, but there’s something funny about a dozen women in their third trimesters trying to touch their toes!

The book looks great - congrats!

    5. Woot for new books! I added that to my Amazon wishlist a while ago. :-)

Thanks so much, Allison! Of course this is such a weird business. If the yoga books do really well, Pocket will probably put the Poetic Death books back into print. That’s the irony. Meantime, I see that Amazon has a number of used or remaindered copies of VOV available. And I bet you can find them on ABE. ;-D

    8. Thanks very much, Lynn — it is a great feeling!

Oh, and yes I did get your yoga story — they’re starting to filter in, slowly but surely. They’re fun to read, I have to admit to giggling over some of them.

    9. Now there’s an image, JB. An image that will likely find its way into the next book… ;-D

    10. Thanks very much, Marissa! Those are the words I love to hear.

    11. Diana, woo-hoo on the new books! Can’t wait to read them. I’ve never done yoga, just pilates. And LOL on the prenatal yoga–that would be a great scene in a book!

    12. Congrats on the debut of the new series, Diana. Now you’ll have two great series out. Cool.

    13. Thanks, Heather. I admit it’s a fun series to write! (And the best thing about writing the series has been learning about yoga and trying to make healthier choices.)

    14. Thanks Maggie! I love both series — partly because they are so different.
