    Getaway

My husband and I leave early this morning for a weekend getaway. Won’t be back until Monday. Hope everyone has a happy, safe weekend!

    Go Red Sox!

    1. Have a great time, Heather, but no, no, Red Sox. Go, Rockies. Time for some new faces.

    2. Heather, have a fabulous time! I’m so jealous. :)

      Maggie, Maggie, Maggie….that’s all…..LOL

Go Theo! Don’t forget about all those cameras and those of us who can read lips. :)

    3. Maggie is banned for life from this blog.

Heather & Mr. Heather picked a curious time to go on vacation; they’re obviously fair-weather fans.

      Viva Okajima, baybee!!!

    6. I was at an alumnae event (my former high school is in Cambridge, Mass), and the event all but got derailed as all of the middle-aged graduates mobbed a television in the corner to cheer the Red Sox on. Ironically, I am now married to a die-hard Yankees fan. He spent the entire evening “pretending” not to look at the game, lol.

    7. Maggie, we did have a great time! Sorry about your Rockies! They were on quite a roll for a while, there. I bet they’ll have such a strong team next year.

    8. Deb, I don’t think I want to read Theo’s lips! LOL.

We actually missed most of the last game–flying home. We were able to hear the last inning on ESPN radio on the ride home from the airport. Not quite the same, but still good!

    9. Theo, we went to Boston. Can’t be more Go Team than that!

    10. Thanks, Laura! We had a nice time. Stayed on the Cape, which is just gorgeous.

    11. Thanks, Rudolf! I actually thought of you this weekend–we were at Mass and there was a visiting priest from Manchester, England… Loved his accent!

    12. Hi Kathryn! We were all gathered around the TV in the terminal, waiting for our plane. It was fun cheering and jeering together. A Yankees fan, huh? :)
